We Are All Worthy of a Pedestal
We are all worthy of a pedestal
And all to life we should be true
For our soul to grow richer
We must work harder for our due
The testament was made to sow
Boil blood in veins, bind in heat
Of future that we cannot know
It tells us what it can of it
After all tulips sprout from seed
All life force reaching for the light
And suddenly one day, unknowing
They shoot upward with pistol’s might
Our life it never stops or tires
Of changing its own step and form
When the end comes, a dream of pyres
In mother’s embrace we’re reborn
And I can say it doesn’t suit me
To chase cheap thrills til Ioss of sight
Deserve a pedestal are they
Who tirelessly walk towards the light
